Lauren Bickham

Assistant Vice President and Equity Fund Director

Lauren Bickham is the Assistant Vice President and Equity Fund Director at Black Onyx Management, Inc., where she manages a fund focusing on the social determinants of health and leads the organization's nonprofit and philanthropy strategies.


Prior to her current role, Lauren served as Executive Director of Grant Development at the Ivy Tech Foundation. There, Lauren played a pivotal role in developing partnerships and securing grant funding to advance the College's mission.


In addition to her grant development responsibilities, Lauren served as Statewide Foundation Diversity Lead. In this capacity, she developed and implemented Diversity, Equity, and Belonging initiatives aligned with the College and Foundation's strategic goals.


Lauren also served as Community Impact Manager at United Way of Central Indiana, where she led federal grant programs dedicated to empowering low-income residents towards self-sufficiency. Her responsibilities included conducting thorough performance evaluations for a diverse portfolio of UWCI partner agencies to ensure the success of their community-focused programs.


Lauren's educational background includes a Master's of Public Affairs earned from Baruch College in New York, where she was selected as a participant in the esteemed National Urban Fellows (NUF) program. NUF's core mission is to cultivate leaders and change agents who are deeply committed to social justice and equity ideals. Lauren also holds a Bachelor of Arts from Indiana University Bloomington, where she studied Communication and Journalism, and a Six Sigma Green Belt certification through Purdue University.


Lauren serves on the Board of Directors for Hawthorne Community Center and is an alum of the Indianapolis Urban League's Exchange Leadership Fellows program, the Women's Fund's OPTIONS program, and the Mutz Philanthropic Leadership Institute.
